Episode Summary
When Victor Bennett, the Charmed One's long-lost father, shows up at Bucklands, Prue identifies a family heirloom as a protection ring, but she rejects his attempt to make amends. Piper and Phoebe opt to give their father a chance. But when Phoebe hugs him, she gets a premonition of Victor stealing the Book of Shadows. At the same time, a shape-shifting neighbour is breaking into the manor to steal the Book-but the Book won't leave the house. Prue confronts Victor, who admits he wanted to steal the Book of Shadows to protect his daughters from the evil that it attracts-the evil that killed their mother. Victor never wanted his girls to have their powers, and he objected when Grams arranged to restore them-but Grams was too strong for Victor to fight her.
When another vision shows Marshal, a neighbour, shape-shifting into Victor, Phoebe knows who's really after the Book, and locates a spell to vanquish the shape-shifters. Trying to throw off the Charmed Ones, one of the neighbours shape-shifts into Victor, but doesn't count on Victor being willing to die along with the demons if it means saving his daughters. As one of the Victors instructs Phoebe to say the spell, Prue determines which is her real father. She uses her power to give him the family protection ring, and although he momentarily stunned when the demons are vanquished, the ring saves him. Victor finally understands that his little girls have grown up and can handle their powers. It is their duty, he realizes, to fulfill their destiny.
A warm and fuzzy family reunion is still not meant to be. Victor leaves town again. The sting of his unexpected departure is softened by a family video of Christmas past, found on the doorstep by the attractive new handyman, Leo Wyatt. Charmed: The Book of Three vol.1

Mistakes/Notes

:: Prue doesn't enjoy parties

:: The sisters usually have a colour theme they wear

:: Prue's job is an appraiser

:: Victor's ring is a 17th century wedding band, and a protection ring.

:: People often confuse Piper and Phoebe

:: Apparently Phoebe is "barely legal" to drink

:: The sisters discover that only a Charmed One can take the Book out of the house

:: They said their powers are passed through females (later proven to be untrue after the birth of Wyatt and Chris)

:: Piper only ate white foods at the age of four

:: Phoebe is three years younger than Piper

:: Phoebe learnt to swim before she could walk

:: Prue broke her arm as a child

:: Prue and Andy missed their prom

:: Prue never crawled, she went straight to walking

:: They had a picnic in the living room when they were little

:: Prue learnt the piano as a child

:: Patty said that premonition is a desirable power

:: Victor smokes

:: Phoebe calls Victor Daddy, but Prue calls him Victor

:: Phoebe wears Prue's dress at the end

:: Leo makes his first appearance

:: Victor leaves a package on the door step saying: "girls, something's come up, I hate to leave town. Can't make it to dinner. Probably best if we let the dust settle anyway. I know there's a lot you would like to forget but here's what I remember. Love dad." "The package is a Christmas video.

:: In future episodes, they say that evil can't touch the book.
:: Victor's last name isn't Halliwell, its Bennett
:: A dog is seen outside the house, watching it, and the sisters go to the party. All three shape-shifters are there. when Prue goes home the dog is in the house, the dog turns out to be one of the shape-shifters, so how did it get outside, and in the house?

Quotes

Piper: Prue, you can't do a party in twenty minutes.
Prue: Watch me.

Phoebe: Prue's party tips - meet, greet and bail.
Prue: Hey, I'm sorry but some of us have a job.
Phoebe: And some of us have fun.
Piper: And some of us are having a really bad hair day.

Prue: Hey, I have an even better idea. Why don't you just get a job.

Prue: Okay, I came, I saw, I was perky. Now I just want my head on a pillow because I have to wake up early.

Prue: There are things I want to tell him, I want him to know what he missed. You know, like the time I broke my arm or the day that I finally passed my drivers test, our prom.
Andy: Didn't we miss that too?
